Im doing a project on Neonatal nursing and one web site said "Neonatal nurses, also called neonatal nurse practitioners". I did not think they were the same thing. Im very confused and would love help. Also i want to become a neonatal nurse!!! Asked by Kay - Sun Apr 4 15:28:02 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. A neonatal nurse practitioner works much more independently than a neonatal nurse and performs some procedures which are also done by physicians. The nurse practitioner has substantial additional training and earns more. You must be doing an NVQ or something :) Have u thought about buying a study guide? When i did NVQ 3 I brought one from waterstones and it helped so much when answering these sorts of questions. Waterstones has loads of great educational resource books-and amazon.co.uk! Q. I love my NP. She spends way more time with me than my doctor. The thing is she says many doctors are against NP's and are trying to start legislation that really restricts their practice. I don't think NP's are a replacement for physicians, but they certainly seem to be well equipped to handle minor illnesses and other not so minor problems. They cost a lot less than a physician which is great for those without health insurance (about 40% of US). What are your thoughts on this? Asked by mispriss - Tue May 15 22:19:22 2007 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments A. Dear Mispris... I agree 100% with you. As a cancer survivor, I see a nurse practioner every month. He suggests, the doctors signs and indeed seems to give me more care than the doctor himself. Speaking of 40% without insurance, insurance as we knew it, is becoming extinct for our health. Consumer Driven Health Care that includes on-going conditions at 1980 rates without limits and restrictions, is the answer 28 million are enjoying right now.
