A. The German or the Dutch way. They do usually give those remedies in the cluster. It is their way of Homoeopathy.

What's the worst thing homeopathy could do to you?
Q. Hi. I must begin homeopathy treatment but I'm scared to begin it. What's the worst thing that could happen to me? I am not physically ill (but sort of mentally). So I am NOT on a medical prescription. I am only on a homeopathic prescription.

A. That's the great thing about Homeopathy... it helps your body heal itself so there are basically no side effects. If you take something that you aren't prescribed for or that you don't need, your body's immune system will still get the benefits, but there would be no ill effects. Simply put, it gives a very, very small dose of an irritant. That small amount stimulates your immune system to attack it, but with the small amount, your immune system completely overwhelms that little bit and all the extra impact from it goes to help the rest of your body. In that aspect, they work similar to the idea of vaccinations (but MUCH safer because there's less irritant and no harsh preservatives), so even if you take the "wrong ingredient", you'll get… [cont.]

Have you ever used homeopathy for your asthma?
Q. Can I use it instead of my asthma medication and when I have an attack? I'm interested to hear from people who have had personal experiences with homeopathy only.

A. No. Homoeopathy has no plausible mechanism of action, has never been demonstrated to work nor is there any reason why it should work. It violates every basic concept of science. If you continue to pursue sCAM and stop using your prophylactic asthma inhalers you will leave yourself at risk from potentially fatal bronchial spasms. If you have a severe asthma attack and your short acting bronchial dilator is having no effect, you need hospital management- there are no buts! But lets just imagine for one moment that homoeopathy did work: It just wouldn't be appropriate to begin with. They'd have to find whatever chemical triggered the attack (sometimes the cause is unknown, as not everyone has identifiable triggers), put a drop of that… [cont.]

Homeopathy (also spelled Homoeopathy or Homœopathy) is a form of alternative medicine, first proposed by German physician Samuel Hahnemann in 1796, that attempts to treat patients with heavily diluted preparations which are thought to cause effects similar to the symptoms presented. Homeopathic remedies are prepared by serial dilution with shaking by forceful striking, which homeopaths term "succussion," after each dilution under the assumption that this increases the effect of the treatment. Homeopaths call this process "potentization". Dilution often continues until none of the original substance remains.

Apart from the symptoms of the disease, homeopaths use aspects of the patient's physical and psychological state in recommending remedies. Homeopathic reference books known as repertories are then consulted, and a remedy is selected based on the totality of symptoms. Homeopathic remedies are considered safe, with rare exceptions. Some homeopaths have, however, been criticized for putting patients at risk with advice to avoid conventional medicine such as vaccinations, anti-malarial drugs, and antibiotics.

The prevalence and regulation of homeopathy is highly variable from country to country. There are no specific legal regulations concerning its use in some countries, while in others, licenses or degrees in conventional medicine from accredited universities are required. Some homeopathic treatment is covered by the national insurance coverage of several countries; in others it is fully integrated into the national health care system. In many countries, the laws that govern the regulation and testing of conventional drugs do not apply to homeopathic remedies.

Claims of homeopathy's efficacy beyond the placebo effect are unsupported by the collective weight of scientific and clinical evidence. While some studies have positive results, systematic reviews of all the published trials fail to conclusively demonstrate efficacy. Furthermore, higher quality trials tend to report less positive results, and most positive studies have not been replicated or show methodological problems that prevent them from being considered unambiguous evidence of homeopathy's efficacy.

Homeopathic remedies generally contain few or no pharmacologically active molecules, and for such remedies to have pharmacological effect would violate fundamental principles of science. Modern homeopaths have proposed that water has a memory that allows homeopathic preparations to work without any of the original substance; however, the physics of water are well understood, and no known mechanism permits such a memory. The lack of convincing scientific evidence supporting homeopathy's efficacy and its use of remedies lacking active ingredients have caused homeopathy to be described as pseudoscience, quackery, and a "cruel deception".

Homeopathy is a form of alternative medicine developed by Samuel Hahnemann, first published in 1796 and based on a "law of similars" where "like cures like". The system's efficacy is controversial. One of the most controversial aspects is the dilution of medicines to a point where less than one molecule of active ingredient would remain.
